24-Hour & Late-Night Money Changers in Singapore
Updated August 2026
Landed at midnight? Flying out at dawn? Most money changers in Singapore follow mall hours and close by 9.30pm — but you’re not out of options.
The late-night standby: Mustafa, Little India
Mustafa Foreign Exchange inside Mustafa Centre on Syed Alwi Road was for decades Singapore’s byword for round-the-clock money changing. The store has since ended its famous 24-hour operation — the counter now runs roughly 9.30am to around midnight daily (per its posted hours; our listing shows live status). That still makes it the latest-closing major changer outside the airport, with particular depth in South Asian currencies.
Practical notes:
- Farrer Park MRT (NE8) is the closest station; the store is a short walk.
- Trains stop around midnight, so a late visit home means a taxi or ride-hail.
- Expect queues at peak evening hours; late evening is usually quicker.
The airport option
Changi Airport counters operate long hours across the terminals, aligned with flight schedules. They are the definition of convenient — and priced accordingly, with spreads noticeably wider than city counters. Sensible use: change a small “arrival float” at the airport and do the bulk of your changing in town at better rates.
Late-evening alternatives
If “late” means 9pm rather than 3am, most mall counters across our locations directory are still open — malls typically run to about 9.30pm daily. Tourist-area counters around Bugis and Orchard also tend to keep longer evening hours than CBD counters, which close with the office crowd.
Do you pay more late at night?
Generally, whoever is open late faces less competition at that hour, so late-night rates tend to be a touch wider than daytime cluster rates. The difference is usually modest in Singapore — but if your amount is large and your schedule allows, changing during the day at a competitive cluster will save you money.
The pre-trip checklist
- Check the live mid-market benchmark for your currency.
- If daytime changing is possible, prefer a cluster — see where the best rates live.
- If it has to be tonight: before midnight, Mustafa; after midnight, the airport is the realistic option — just benchmark the board before you commit.
